AI in classrooms from north to south of Portugal

Each point on the map represents a teacher who has taught about AI or used AI in the classroom or school library with students. They shared their lesson plans with “AI goes to school,” and were featured on the page and on the map because their work is inspiring. The goal is for other teachers to learn about various ways to teach AI in the classroom, find inspiration, and even adapt some of the activities for their students.

From primary school through secondary and higher education, an analysis of lesson plans reveals a focus on prioritizing AI literacy, critical reflection on its use, an understanding of the advantages and disadvantages of using AI for studying, and how to be creative by also drawing on generative AI.

We curated a selection of noteworthy lesson plans, spoke with teachers, followed their work on social media, and also asked teachers to nominate colleagues who are doing inspiring work.

We want to keep expanding the map to Portugal and other countries – you can view it here.
