AI Goes to School supports teachers and schools in responsible AI adoption through expert training and curated lesson plans. Our training empowers both teachers, students and caregivers with essential AI literacy, giving them the knowledge and skills to integrate AI into learning. We also help school leaders plan for creating AI policies that will support their schools with the future.

Meet the team

Marta Pinto
Marta, founder of AI goes to School. Was a middle school Art teacher, researcher in Education Technology, with experience as a facilitator and manager in Learning and Development in the IT sector. With over 20 years of experience in education, exploring technology as support to enhance teaching and learning processes. Has explored the design of online courses through culturally sensitive pedagogy, adding a critical approach that cares for inclusion and a sense of belonging. Currently, focused on applying knowledge about Artificial Intelligence to help teachers and schools use, promote critical reflection on the ethical issues associated with its use in the classroom context. Holds a Master’s degree in Education and child studies, and a PhD in Multimedia in Education, both with a focus on the use of digital technology in the classroom.
Cláudia, partner teacher at AI goes to School. Has worked as an elementary school teacher for over 20 years and currently teaches at the Agrupamento de Escolas de Barcelos, Portugal. She has been working on computational thinking with her students, which led her to do a master’s dissertation on Artificial Intelligence educational practices in Primary Education. Loves creating and collaborating with other teachers and getting involved in various initiatives, having created and participated in pedagogical projects that have received numerous awards and distinctions. The “EcoKids Teach AI” project was selected for the Portuguese delegation to the International Science on Stage festival in Turku in August 2024. Is currently starting a PhD in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in Education.

Bárbara Cleto
Bárbara, partner teacher at AI goes to School. Has been teaching Computer Science and Electronics for almost 25 years, in secondary vocational education and higher education. She has an incessant curiosity and joy for the challenge of getting to know each student and providing them with engaging and personalized learning experiences. She has a Master’s degree in Digital Games Development, a specialization in Multimedia Communication and has completed a post-graduation in Robotics and Emerging Technologies in Primary Education. Is currently completing a PhD in Multimedia in Education.
Ana, partner teacher at AI goes to School. Has been a Computer Science teacher for 20 years. Education wasn’t her background, but while she was waiting for a job, as a result of her degree in computer science management, she began her teaching and the passion was immediate, inspired by the memories of the very committed teachers who always made her feel happy at school. She has invested in training, has two graduation degrees one in Computer Science and another in Education and a Masters in Education Technologies. Her areas of interest are computer science, robotics, and differentiated emerging technologies. Sharing among peers has always been very important to continue to enjoy being at school and learning so that I can continue to teach.
